Across the franchise, the player can encounter a wide variety of collectibles, some which help build a further narrative of a game, and others which are just for fun.

Alan Wake

Manuscript Pages

Main Articles: Departure, The Sudden Stop and Manuscript Pages (Alan Wake)

Across the game, Alan will find pages of a manuscript he doesn't remember writing. Some foretell events due to occur and some which have already come to pass, while a very small amount are pages from his Alex Casey novels. There are a total of 106 pages to find across the six base game episodes; 91 in the Easy/Normal or Normal/Hard difficulties (depending on the game version) and 15 in Nightmare difficulty.

Radio Shows

Main Article: Radio Shows (Alan Wake)

Across the first four episodes of the game, Alan can find segments of Pat Maine's radio show "The Night Owl." There are 11 in total to find, though a twelfth unofficial one that doesn't count towards an achievement can be found in Episode 5: The Clicker with Pat playing War by Poets of the Fall.

Night Springs Episodes

In each base game episode, players can turn on a television and find an episode of Night Springs. There are 6 episodes required to find that count towards an achievement, though a total of 8 episodes can be found in the Remastered version of Alan Wake, the two extra being on a television in Cauldron Lake Lodge in Episode 4: The Truth, though they count towards a separate achievement.

Writer in the Cabin

Alongside episodes of Night Springs, across Alan's journey he will encounter televisions that will automatically turn themselves on. These are segments that show Alan within Bird Leg Cabin writing out the Departure manuscript whilst having a psychological discussion with himself. There are 7 of these to find across the game.

Coffee Thermoses

Across all of the game's six main episodes, Alan can find many Oh Deer coffee thermoses scattered around, some are easy to spot while others are quite hidden. Collecting thouse hold no gameplay benefit outside of achivements. There are 100 coffee thermoses in total.

Signs

Main Article: Signs

Verious signs can be found across the game, especially near tourist areas such as Elderwood National Park and the Coal Mine Museum, containing background information about the areas. There is a total of 25 signs across the main six episodes.

Can Pyramids

Twelve can pyramids are scattered across the game and can be collected by shooting at them. They hold no benefit, but shooting five of them would grant an achivement.

Chests

Main Article: Chests

Many supply chests are hidden across the main episodes, with light sensitive paint leading to them. They contain useful supplies and ammunition, especially for the rarer, most powerful weapons. There are 30 chests to be found in the game.

Alarm Clocks

Exclusive to The Signal DLC episode, are ten alarm clocks that are hidden across the episode. They can be tracked by ticking sounds that alert the player to their location when nearby. They hold no benefit outside of an achivement.

Cardboard Standees

Also exclusive to The Signal are six cardboard standees, one for each main character in the game excluding Alan himself. Interacting with them would reveal some information about the assiciated character, and sometimes background information not preasent in the main game. Interacting with them all would grant an achivement.

Night Springs Video Games

Exclusive to The Writer DLC episode are ten Night Springs video games that can be found across the episode. They are identical to the alarm clocks, having unique sound cues that alert the player to their location when nearby. An achivement will be granted for collecting all of them.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare

Manuscript Pages

Like in the previous game, Alan will find pages of a manuscript he was writing, in this case an earlier draft of return he was writing at the end of the previous game.

Radio Shows

Several fragments of Eddie Rodman's radio show which can be listened to from several radios across the game. There are total of 9 radio shows in the game - 3 in each act with 1 in each area.

Weapons

Several weapons that can be unlocked through collecting manuscript pages. Unlocked weapons would also be available to find in the arcade mode Fight 'Till Dawn.

Mr. Scratch Videos

Several videos of Mr. Scratch that are able to be watched by interacting with TVs across the game. There are a total of 9 videos - 3 in each act with there being 1 in each area.

Saga can find various radio broadcasts, mainly music and episodes of Pat Maine's radio show.

Television

Saga can find Koskelas Ads (TV commercials made by the Koskela Brothers).

Deer heads

Saga can pet multiple hung deer heads found in several locations.

Mayor Setter booths

Saga can find six mayoral campaign booths across Bright Falls and Watery which will allow her to meet Mayor Setter.

Initiation (Alan Wake)

Writer's Journey

Wake can find visions of himself displayed on TVs across the Dark Place, depicting his struggle to survive and escape during his years trapped in there.

Words of Power

Wake can find multiple hidden circles containing Words of Power. These words give the player the option to augment and improve their weapons.

Echoes

Wake can find various Echoes throughout the Dark Place which show him visions of his fictional detective Alex Casey.
