A flanker is a common form of Taken, and the weakest of them.

Although small and weak, they are quick and agile, and will attempt to outflank and attack swiftly. They usually use sickles and small knives as as weapons. They have a rarer, much more variant in the form of Tele-flankers.

In Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Small Splitters will also act as Flankers.
